In this interview the artist talks about his experiences in the music business, talks about his sound and style, how he feels about the current rap artists today and more! Read all about what he has to say below!
The Media Blast: How are you $hynePhre$h? Are you ready for this interview?
$hynePhre$h: Ready as a brand new THOT.
Where did you get the name $hynePhre$h? What does it mean and how does it encompass who you are?
$hynePhre$h: Well it’s quite simple, I like to shine and stay fresh. When you put the two together, it has a nice ring to it. It represents me perfectly.
How would you describe yourself as an artist?
$hynePhresh: I would say that I’m a fresh breath of air. Coming with all authentic and relatable Vibes. As an artist, I am pure substance.
You are originally from Baton Rouge, LA, but where are you currently?
$hynePhre$h: Yes, I am originally from Baton Rouge. But just recently, I reside in Las Vegas.
How is the music scene where you are right now?
$hynePhre$h: Actually I haven’t had a chance to get into it yet. Judging most of these guys here are trash with music. Just my opinion but definitely not on the same level.
What inspired you to get into music?
$hynePhre$h: Tupac was a major inspiration. I was drawing pictures and mimicking this guy's style back in 96 right before he died. I had to be about 10 years old. But I like to hear a story well expressed, and that’s where my love for music comes in.
Who are some of the artists that inspired you?
$hynePhre$h: Well like I said, it was Tupac. Not a rapper or singer has inspired me since. It’s been all me.
Who are some of the artists that you enjoy listening to now?
$hynePhre$h: I very seldomly listen to anybody else to even know who's hot. I can’t seem to get into any artist nowadays. All of them are big serial killers for no reason LOL. I just don’t find it realistic. Nor relatable. I mean, it’s cool to talk about the murder game sometimes. But it shouldn’t be implemented in every track. It’s just not realistic.
What's one of the worst experiences you've faced in the music industry so far and how did you bounce back from it? What did you learn from the experience?
$hynePhre$h: The worst experience I’ve had in music is not reading a contract thoroughly. Before you agree to a music contract, try your best to research them down to the tea. Right now that’s the best scam out. I can’t express how many people are scamming music today, but to be honest, I’ve blown so much music with people feeding off of my dreams. To the point that I wanted to find somebody to murder for it, but the moral of the story is to do your homework before spending your money.
You have lived the street life, what influenced you to get out of the streets?
$hynePhres$h: You know, when you find yourself to be the only one going back-and-forth to prison, doing years at a time, that shit gets your mind right. So you either wake up or remain lost. It was a waking up for me. And it’s not necessarily the jail to me. It’s the loneliness, the emptiness of missing your family. Especially if you have kids out here to live for.
What plans do you have for 2022?
$hynePhre$h: To establish a household name in the music world. Just as simple as that.
Where do you see yourself in the next five years as an artist?
$hynePhre$h: Shit in the next five years I better be on Mount Rushmore LOL. Or I’m hanging it up. And I know that won’t be the case, so Mount Rushmore me please LOL.
Is there anything that you would like to plug or mention that we haven't mentioned already?
$hynePhre$h: Yeah, to all you up and coming rappers, find your own niche. Stop copying and pasting what’s already out. All this recycling music is not it. It’s whack, and to top it off, you don’t have to have a gun or a murder in every song. Get creative with it. Some talent and substance should be involved somewhere in the mist.
